These reflections examine how I approach program leadership, combining delivery, technology, methodology, and cultural insight. From applying Lean Thinking across continents to leveraging generative AI in global programs, each perspective draws from real-world transformation work.

I bring this mindset into personal pursuits as well, such as specialty coffee, where I continuously experiment and optimize using the same principles I apply in business. For me, operational excellence isn’t just a framework; it’s a way of thinking.

How Blockchain Can Reinforce PM Governance

(Originally published in PMI Magazine, May 2021)

In a landscape where accountability and traceability are critical, blockchain offers more than just financial innovation and security. It provides a framework for governance. In my article for PMI Magazine, I explored how distributed ledger principles can enhance transparency, reduce disputes, and increase confidence across various industries, alongside their vast potential.

Whether it’s improving a supply chain, simplifying forecasts (deviating from statistical models), streamlining multi-vendor programs, audits, or even potential business improvement projects, blockchain can complement PM practices and safeguard integrity.

How Generative AI Is Elevating Program Management

Generative AI is more than a productivity tool, it’s a strategic advantage for Program Managers navigating fast-moving business environments. From automating repetitive PMO tasks to accelerating stakeholder communication analysis, AI enhances decision-making and creative ideation.

In my experience, prompt engineering has become a practical asset. I’ve used AI as an additional help to draft strategies, challenge assumptions, and accelerate solution generation in global initiatives. The key isn’t just knowing how to use the technology; it’s knowing when to use it to unlock speed, structure, or clarity without depending entirely on it. AI augments our work, but it’s the PM’s judgment that drives transformation.

Lean Thinking at a Global Scale: People First, Process Second

Lean is powerful, but global execution isn’t copy-paste. What works in North America may land differently in APAC or EMEA due to cultural, regulatory, or operational nuances.

While leading a global M&A integration, I applied Lean Thinking not just to streamline workflows, but to localize them. Success came from listening, co-creating, and balancing standardization with adaptability. The outcome? A 20% boost in process efficiency and high stakeholder trust. Lean isn’t just a toolkit, it’s a mindset that starts with empathy and ends with excellence.

From Coffee to Kaizen: Applying Lean Thinking to Brewing

Brewing specialty coffee may seem worlds apart from global program delivery, but the thinking behind both is remarkably similar. I treat my coffee practice as a personal Lean lab, iterating pour-over techniques, dialing in grind size, adjusting mineral composition, and measuring outcomes like brew time, taste clarity, and extraction efficiency.

Just like in business, I track variables, reflect on performance, and eliminate waste (in time, water chemistry, and flavor clarity). By continuously improving my process with small, intentional tweaks, I apply the same problem-solving logic I bring to transformation programs. For me, Lean isn’t just for the boardroom. It’s a daily discipline, even in the kitchen.

I'm always looking for new and exciting opportunities.
